What is the difference between a Digital TFT and a Analog TFT?
The difference is the interface signal. The digital TFT is designed to accept digital interface signals TTL /LVDS. The analog TFT is designed to accept analog RGB / NTSC / PAL interface signals.

What is the lifetime spec for a Tsingtek LCD backlight?
The lifetime (50% of original backlight brightness) for White LED backlight is rated as high as 40K hours. The lifetime for CCFL backlight is rated as high as 40K hours.

Can I control the backlight brightness?
CCFL frame rate can be modulated for a smaller percentage of time at full voltage.
This may cause some noise but you can have limited control of the CCFL. However LED backlight  brightness is easier to control. It can be achieved by regulating the backlight DC- current, PWM control, or implementing special LED drivers (IC).

What is LCD response time?
Response time is the amount of time a pixel in a LCD takes to go from black to white and back to black again. It is measured in milliseconds (ms). Smaller values represent faster transitions and therefore smoother images.

What do the RGB bits represent?
 There are three colors, red, green and blue, in a pixel. The changes of the saturation level of each color combine into a spectrum of colors. The saturation level can be represented by bit. The number of bits  represents the power to 2. For example, if there are 8 bits for red, then there are 256 levels of saturation. Therefore, when we have 24 bits in a LCD module for color representations, 8 bits are equally divided to red, green and blue. In this way, there can be 16.8 millions colors.

What is TFT?
TFT-LCD stands for thin-film transistor liquid-crystal display. It uses liquid crystal between to glass substrates to control the passage of light. The color filter is on the  front glass substrate, and the back glass substrate has transistors on it. When voltage is applied, the liquid crystal is bent and a pixel is formed by the light that passes through. The color filter on the front glass  substrate gives each pixel its own color. The combination of these pixels in different colors forms the  image on the panel.

 OLED stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode.
It is a light-emitting diode (LED) whose emissive electroluminescent layer is composed of a film of organic  compounds that emit light when an electric current passes through it. This layer of organic semiconductor material is formed between two electrodes, where at least one of the electrodes is transparent.

 

 What is the relation between power consumption, lifetime and brightness of OLED?
Power consumption has a direct relation with the numbers of lighted pixels and panel's brightness, less  lighted pixels and lower brightness lead to lower consumption. Compare to LCD,which has backlight,  OLED's power consumption is much lower. The lifetime is inversely proportional to the brightness. The  lower brightness, the longer lifetime.


  What are the advantages of OLED?
Compared to LCD, OLED has many advantages, for example, self-emission, no backlight,wide view- angle, light weight, thin thickness, high contrast, fast response time, wide temperature range, good aseismatic ability, simple processing technology and can implement flexible display.

The OLED luminescent materials are solid state, which physical characteristics are stable under different  environment temperature.
