Featuring a non-contact measurement method, they are easy to install and maintain. With high efficiency and precision, these devices are widely used in industrial environments such as wastewater treatment, chemical plants, thermal power plants, and maritime transportation for continuous liquid level monitoring
Working Principle
The probe of an ultrasonic level gauge emits high-frequency ultrasonic pulses. When these pulses encounter the surface of the measured liquid level, they are reflected back. Part of the reflected echo is captured by the probe and converted into an electrical signal. The time T between the emission and reception of the ultrasonic waves is directly proportional to the distance S between the probe and the liquid level. This relationship between distance S, sound velocity C, and transmission time T can be expressed by the formula: S=C × T / 2.
