Pet food production lines typically consist of raw material processing systems, mixing and stirring systems, molding and processing systems, drying/baking systems, cooling systems, packaging systems, and automation control systems.
1.Raw material processing system:including crushers, screening machines, etc., used to process meat, grains, vegetables and other raw materials into uniform particles or powders, ensuring the uniformity of subsequent mixing.
2‌.Mixing and stirring system:By using a dual axis paddle mixer or a horizontal screw belt mixer, different raw materials are fully mixed according to the formula ratio, and nutritional enhancers such as vitamins and minerals can be added at the same time.
3.Forming processing system:Based on the product type (such as dry food, wet food, snacks), equipment such as extruders, injection molding machines,or tablet presses are used to process the mixed raw materials into specific shapes (such as granules, biscuits, meat strips).
4.Drying/baking system:This process is the core of the pet food production line and directly affects the shelf life and taste of the product. Common drying methods include hot air circulation drying, vacuum low-temperature drying, and microwave drying. Among them, hot air circulation drying removes moisture through high-temperature air circulation, which is suitable for dry grain production; Vacuum low-temperature drying can quickly dehydrate at low temperatures, retain nutrients, and is suitable for high-end pet food; Microwave drying is characterized by high efficiency and energy saving, but the equipment cost is relatively high.
5.Cooling and packaging system:The dried product needs to be cooled to room temperature through a cooling tower or vibrating screen, and then weighed and sealed by an automatic packaging machine. Some production lines are also equipped with metal detectors and X-ray machines to ensure that the product is free of foreign matter contamination.
