• Bulk Density (kg/hl):
○ Minimum acceptable is 63 kg/hl.
○ Accepted down to 58 kg/hl with a 1% price deduction for each kg/hl below 63.
○ Rejected if bulk density is less than 58 kg/hl.
• Impurities and Damaged Grains:
○ Maximum allowable: 5%.
○ Accepted up to 8% with a 1% price deduction for each percentage point above 5%.
○ Rejected if the percentage exceeds 8%.
• Other Grains Suitable for Animal Feed:
○ Maximum allowable: 10%.
○ Rejected if it exceeds this percentage.
• Pest-Free Requirement:
○ The product must be completely free of all live insects in all forms and stages, mold, and any foreign odors.
○ If the material contains no more than 5 live insects/kg (typical grain storage pests), it must be properly fumigated at the seller’s expense before entry through border checkpoints under the supervision of the Agricultural Quarantine and the Imported Fodder Sampling Committee.
○ Post-fumigation samples must be taken and examined by Agricultural Quarantine to ensure the product is free from live insects and larvae.
○ If the product is stored in the supplier’s warehouses, fumigation must be carried out by the supplier, with post-fumigation samples sent to the Central Laboratory to confirm absence of live pests and larvae.
• Aflatoxin B1:
○ Must not exceed 0.02 mg/kg.
• Safety and Suitability for Animal Feed:
○ The product must be completely free of toxic substances and suitable for animal consumption.
○ It must not contain any disease-causing agents harmful to human or animal health.
○ It must be free from hormones and banned growth promoters.
