Michelle's journey began with home baking and supplying treats to small businesses. As challenges arose with deliveries and product lifespan, she innovated with longer-lasting snacks, inspired by friends' feedback. This passion project started in August 2017, gained momentum in 2018 with Andy Wong's support, and evolved into Kintry, expanding to 3 locations with an internal delivery fleet. Kintry's growth owes much to its community, with customers influencing products and recipes, providing inspiration, ideas, and support through roadshows.
We have a social initiative called Kintry Kindness, it’s basically just a way where we reach out to help others. We work closely with Sze Women of Hope and UNHCR running classes and helping out when we can with refugees. We donate or cook for various homeless shelters and food banks around KL. Going for talks earlier made Michelle realize there’s a need to reach out, especially to women. Some have the strength to be able to have a voice but there are many who don’t and feel bullied. She currently aims to empower others and inspire them to believe in themselves. She helps lead others towards the support lines for counselling or shelters.
