Freshdi Market Insight
Make smarter Sulfur sourcing decisions with real market data
Iran, Kazakhstan, and the United States each hold 8.3% of the 96 Sulfur suppliers, with 40 countries represented in total, so sourcing options are spread across a wide geographic base. The typical range is USD 550 - 840 per metric ton FOB, centered at a USD 760 median, meaning prices vary noticeably and buyers should evaluate origin and quality carefully. Buyer inquiries fell 36.7% to 62 in the last 30 days. Buyers request CIF more often than suppliers offer it — a 15.9 percentage point gap — so a CIF price must be explicitly asked for.

96 suppliers are actively offering Sulfur on the platform, with 31 of them updating their listings in the last 30 days. This shows a steady level of engagement—suppliers are not just listing once and disappearing, but actively maintaining their inventory. For buyers, that means current pricing and specifications are likely up to date, reducing the risk of dealing with outdated or inaccurate information. 146 active listings mean there’s a broad range of grades, pack sizes, and quality specs available at once. A buyer can quickly find a match without needing to start from scratch or wait for a custom quote, especially if they’re looking for a standard or mid-tier sulfur product. The volume also suggests suppliers treat this category as a core part of their operations, not a side offering. Suppliers come from 40 different countries, which gives buyers a wide geographic range to choose from. This diversity means sourcing isn’t limited to one region—buyers can compare supply chains, regulatory environments, and lead times across multiple regions, offering flexibility in risk management and logistics planning. Buyer inquiries dropped 36.7% to 62 in the last 30 days compared to the previous period. While this may suggest reduced immediate demand, the fact that 31 suppliers updated their listings in that same window shows activity is still present—just less visible in inquiry volume. Buyers should view this as a potential window to secure supply before demand rebounds.

How stable is this supply base?
Three separate questions, answered in order: is the product fresh, is the market busy, and can the sellers be trusted.
Is there much new product?
Sulfur had 30 new listings in the last 30 days, fewer than the 37 the month before. When comparing offers, the listing date helps identify which ones are closer to current market conditions. Check the listing date when evaluating two similar offers to ensure you're not relying on outdated data.
Is the market busy?
18 of the 96 suppliers joined in the last 12 months, a mix of long-standing and new sellers. The pool includes both established names with a history of consistent listings and newer entries building their presence. This mix increases the number of options available, but newer suppliers have less track record to assess. Review each supplier's listing history before initiating contact with one.

What are the selling conditions, and where do the two sides disagree?

Methodology
How the numbers on this page are produced, and what they do not cover.
Every figure comes from Sulfur listings, supplier quotes and buyer requests posted on Freshdi in the 365 days to 19 October 2026 - 146 active listings, 135 buyer requests, 32 source documents, and 188 supply observations from the last 90 days. External export benchmarks are cited separately and never mixed into Freshdi figures.
Price and MOQ ranges are the interquartile range - the middle half of quotes, a quarter below and a quarter above - with the median reported alongside. A Sulfur type is priced only once it holds at least 5% of supply price quotes and 3 priced listings with a real range; below that it is not listed. Buyer prices are compared only once there are at least 5 of them.
All prices are FOB, in USD per metric ton; quotes on other Incoterms are converted to a FOB equivalent. Freshdi does not hold a CIF price series for Sulfur, so no landed-cost comparison is possible from this data.
Demand-versus-supply differences in trade and payment term shares are stated in percentage points, and origin rows add buyer requests per listing. Each figure carries its market scope - global - beside the number rather than in a footnote.
Product freshness counts listings created or updated. Supplier activity counts sellers by their last update. The two are different measurements and will not agree.
Freshdi reprocesses market data every hour, with one snapshot a day for trends. This page's figures, certification coverage included, refresh every 14 days on a rolling 365-day window.
