9,000.00 RM ON AUGUST 25, 1884. USING THE WOODEN MASH
AND LAUTER TUN FROM THE JUNKER BREWERY, A WASH KETTLE AS
A BREWING KETTLE, AND THE PRESS AS A COOLING SHIP, THE FIRST
TEST BREW WAS MADE. THIS FIRST BREW WAS A GREAT SUCCESS,
THUS NOTHING STOOD IN THE WAY OF REOPENING THE BREWERY
IN 1887, WHICH BECAME THE FOUNDING YEAR OF TODAY’S
BREWERY. IT WAS THE BIRTH OF THE LUTZ BREWERY WITH AN
UPRIGHT LION AS ITS COMPANY SYMBOL. THE LATER COMPANY
SYMBOL WITH THE TWO LIONS AND THE THEN COAT OF ARMS OF
KREUZWERTHEIM MAY STILL BE KNOWN HERE AND THERE TODAY.”
