Type

Arabica green coffee bean (Coffea arabica), single-origin from Uganda's highland growing regions.

Packaging

Supplied in 60 kg GrainPro-lined jute bags to preserve freshness and prevent moisture absorption during transit. Vacuum-sealed packaging is available on request for extended shelf life requirements.

Grade

Available in Bugisu AA, Bugisu A, Bugisu B, and Peaberry (PB), graded and certified in accordance with Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA) standards.

Shape

Oval-shaped bean with a flat face and a characteristic curved centre cut, typical of high-quality Arabica coffee.

Max Moisture

12.5%, tested and certified prior to export in compliance with ICO and SCA green coffee standards.

Feature

Single-origin, high-altitude grown, and hand-picked at peak ripeness for superior cup quality. Every lot is traceable to farm level, fully EUDR compliant, and available with GPS farm documentation for buyers requiring deforestation-free sourcing assurance.

Drying Process

Washed lots are dried on raised beds under natural sunlight for even and consistent drying. Natural processed lots undergo extended raised-bed sun-drying for full fruit character development. Mechanical drying is available where uniformity of moisture is a priority.

Cultivation Process

Grown on smallholder farms under natural shade at altitudes between 1,500 and 2,300 metres above sea level. Beans are selectively hand-picked at full cherry ripeness, ensuring only mature fruit enters the processing chain. Cultivation is carried out without synthetic pesticides, with transitional organic and certified organic supply available depending on the season.

Shelf Life

12 months from the date of processing when stored under recommended conditions.

Form

Raw green bean, ready for roasting. Unhulled (parchment) form is available upon request for buyers who prefer to hull locally.

Processing Type

Available as Fully Washed, Natural, or Honey processed. Processing method can be specified at the time of order to match the buyer's cup profile requirements.

Place of Origin

Mt. Elgon, Rwenzori Mountains, and the Bugisu Region, Eastern and Western Uganda. Grown in some of Uganda's most fertile highland soils with rich volcanic composition and consistent rainfall patterns.

Specification

Screen size ranges from 15 to 18 depending on grade. Grown at altitudes of 1,500–2,300 MASL. Defects assessed and classified per UCDA grading standards. Ochratoxin A content below 5 µg/kg in compliance with EU food safety regulations. Aflatoxin within Codex Alimentarius limits. Non-GMO. Foreign matter 0%.

Storage Type

To be stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated warehouse away from direct sunlight and any odour-absorbing materials such as spices or chemicals. GrainPro sealed bags are strongly recommended for extended storage to maintain green coffee freshness and prevent flavour degradation.

Test

Each shipment is accompanied by a Phytosanitary Certificate issued by MAAIF, a UCDA Export Certificate, and a moisture content test report. Additional testing available includes screen size analysis, cupping score evaluation, Ochratoxin A (OTA) testing, and aflatoxin analysis. Third-party lab reports available on request.

Flavor

Bright and clean acidity with a well-balanced flavour profile. Tasting notes include floral aromas, ripe stone fruit, caramel sweetness, and layered berry undertones. The finish is sweet and lingering, characteristic of high-altitude East African Arabica.

Size

Screen 15 for Grade B, Screen 16–17 for Grade A, Screen 18 for Grade AA, and Screen 13 round for Peaberry.
