The Top Cuvée from Veteran Producer Don Julio, named in honour of founder Don Julio Gonzalez-Frausto Estrada, who first distilled Tequila when he was just 17 years old in 1942. This tasty Mexican spirit is treated to 30 months in American white oak before it's bottled.
A hint of green banana, vanilla pod and cinnamon, alongside toasty oak and distinctive roasted agave notes
Don Julio makes excellent tequila in the highlands of Jalisco. With this 1942 they have put everything they can into one product. Plus it is delicious.
Only the absolute finest blue Weber agave is used. Naturally handpicked and harvested when it is at its most ripe. Then they are slowly cooked in traditional brick ovens for 72 hours. The cooked agave is then crushed and fermented before undergoing a double distillation process in copper stills. Only produced in small batches, the tequila is aged for a minimum of 2.5 years in new American oak barrels.
The scent of Don Julio 1942 is very alluring. It comes with a sweet aroma with hints of agave, chocolate and cinnamon. The taste is exceptional and offers a harmonious blend of agave and roasted notes. It has an insanely smooth and velvety texture with notes of caramel, vanilla and toasted oak. The experience lingers on the palate for a loooooong time, and you have no doubt that this is absolutely world-class tequila.
