What is Palm Kernel Oil?

Palm Kernel Oil is a vegetable oil derived from the kernel or seed of the oil palm fruit (Elaeis guineensis). Distinct from palm oil which is extracted from the pulp, palm kernel oil has unique physical and chemical properties that make it valuable in many industries.

Refined palm kernel oil undergoes bleaching and deodorizing steps to meet quality standards.

Quality and Grading Standards

Quality of palm kernel oil is assessed based on parameters including free fatty acid (FFA) content, moisture and impurities, color, and peroxide value. International standards such as those from the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) and Codex Alimentarius provide grading guidance ensuring product consistency and purity.
