Potassium Nitrate

Potassium nitrate is an inorganic salt known as saltpeter or nitre, appearing as white crystals with a sharp, salty, and bitter taste. It is widely used as a nitrogen fertilizer, in food preservation, toothpastes, and fireworks. While generally safe in small amounts, it is an oxidizer that can cause skin/eye irritation and dizziness or high-level toxicity (methemoglobinemia).
