All big things have small beginnings. It all began in 1995, long before the revolution in the garment business, when we started manufacturing basic clothing items for domestic consumption. The factory employed a handful of workers; the operations were family run and turnover was modest.

One year into the business we changed tack, we began exporting, and things have never been the same again. The factory in Trok Chan district on the southern fringes of Bangkok that launched Far East Knitting Co., Ltd. almost half a century ago has today developed into a bustling production house equipped with state-of-art machinery and employing 6,500 workers and annual turnover well in excess of US$ 160 million.

The switch to export mode also led to the establishment of another manufacturing facility on Sathupradit Road which in due course, would become Far East Knitting's chief export production base and its operational nerve centre serving as a nucleus around which other aspects of the company's business would grow. In 1991, a third factory located on Phetkasem Road, Bangkok, was commissioned to further consolidate garment export operations.

The fashion house of the United States are our main customers accounting for 90% of exports, followed by the markets of 15-member Europen Union and Canada. Knitted products are our specialty. We have a combined capacity to manufacture 150,000 dozen units of garment per month. Far East Knitting has a combined quota of one million dozen annually with special emphasis on 638 and 338.
