i+MED was founded in 2001 we submitted their proposal to Thailands Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Venture Capital Fund and became the countrys first biomedical green field company to receive SME VC Funds investment: THB 34.5M investment (approximately USD 1M) in return for a 46% ownership stakeLicensed rapid immunochromatographic assay technology from the US and focused on rapid tests for diagnosing pregnancy, drug abuse, and a range of infectious diseases. Focused on manufacturing high quality tests in a ISO13845:2003 facility in order to be able to export its products to developed markets. In 2007, obtained CE mark certification for pregnancy tests. The company white-labels tests for a number of large pharmaceutical and distribution companiesThe focus on high quality has enabled the company to compete against incumbent firms in Thailand and new large scale manufacturers in China by targeting niche customers who require high quality products and customized service. i+MED has become one of the three largest rapid test manufacturers in Thailand.
