SAITA

Saita is a relatively new venture that, for the past three years, has dedicated itself to agriculture, specifically focusing on pomegranate cultivation. This once overlooked fruit has recently garnered widespread interest due to its exceptional health benefits.

Nestled in the picturesque town of Terlizzi, north of the capital of Apulia, our company operates in an agricultural economy with age-old traditions in olive, vine, and almond cultivation, which has been partly transformed into floriculture in recent decades.

Our production site is nestled between the ancient village of Sovereto and the Appian Way Traiana, a historically rich territory that has witnessed the passage of Crusaders, using the Appian Way to reach Brindisi, making Sovereto a resting place and "hospitale."

Amidst this agricultural backdrop, characterized by a sub-planar landscape just 8 kilometers from the sea, lies the "Soveragri" Agricultural Company. Our territory is adorned with dry-stone walls and traditional trulli (rustic buildings known as pagliai) and shaped by karst formations, resulting in the complete absence of surface watercourses. This condition proves beneficial for the pomegranate, which not only fears frost but also avoids water stagnation.

As a young and dynamic enterprise, Saita operates with unwavering respect for the environment and its principles. We strive to merge reverence for the past, represented by the precious and distinctive pomegranate fruit, with innovative technologies that guarantee the highest product quality. Hence the name chosen for our brand, "SAIT," which is the Terlizzi dialect word for "MELAGRANA" (pomegranate), a term that traces its roots back to ancient Greek, "side'."

At present, our company cultivates approximately 6000 pomegranate plants across 25 hectares of land. We are actively planning to expand our plantation and have meticulously selected the most exquisite and unique pomegranate varieties from the Mediterranean region.
