Utilizing OMNIA Partners cooperative contracts to supply and furnish the new Havre de Grace Middle/ High school saved time and money our staff would have needed to solicit IFBs and RFPs of our own. They also provide a greater economy of scale to achieve greater discounts than we could leverage on our own. Purchases made from a cooperative contract are typically placed with a PCard which saves HCPS an estimated $105.97 versus a PO process.
GPOs provide another tool in a very extensive tool kit that works for cost savings. They are particularly valuable in areas of spend where procurement has not taken the time to thoroughly vet a particular category of spend. In that regard, they can act as an extension of my team. We can, and we have taken advantage of ‘riding the coattails' of larger companies and/or companies with larger spend that are members of a GPO.
US Foods does all the legwork to drive savings directly off invoicing; helping us to control costs and increase revenues. The customer support that we receive and the commitment by the OMNIA Partners cooperative to help us to continue to maximize our revenue while offering innovative food concepts has proven invaluable to our dining operation.

When you get to numbers like 30,40, even $60,000 in savings, that’s a Buyer, that’s a Contract Coordinator for a lot of counties. I think those numbers are something that needs to be talked about when showing the value OMNIA Partners brings to our organization.
