About Our Company

Our company is AGRICOB-S-A.

Agricob S.A. was established in 2007 with the purpose of producing and marketing all kinds of products made from corn cobs. Our processing plant is located in the Sixth Region, in the municipality of San Francisco de Mostazal.

We are the only plant in South America that processes and manufactures products from corn cobs. Thanks to our advanced production process and quality control measures, we are able to market highly homogeneous products in shape, composition, and moisture content.

The main qualities of corn cobs are their high absorption capacity for liquids and their abrasion properties. Due to our highly technological manufacturing process, we can offer a variety of granulometries to meet different market needs.

Key Properties and Uses

Among the various applications of our products, the following stand out:

• Transport carrier for all kinds of pesticides and additives used in animal nutrition.
• Used as a natural exfoliant for soaps and cleaning of skins and carpets.
• Used in foundries, mulch, mushroom cultivation substrates, industrial filters, among others.

Over 50 years, products made from corn cobs have been marketed worldwide for diverse markets, including oil drilling and pet products. The high liquid absorption and abrasion qualities of corn cobs make them versatile for many industrial and agricultural uses.

Our highly technological production process allows us to provide various granulometries, offering solutions for each specific market segment.

All our products are 100% plant-based, biodegradable, and renewable. They are free of mineral powders that animals might inhale, and they provide high ammonia absorption and retention to control odors.

Applications and Industry Highlights

Our corn cob-based products are used globally in applications such as:

• Carrier for pesticides and nutritional supplements such as choline chloride, insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, and animal feed additives.
• As additives in drilling muds to prevent circulation loss by sealing cavities and cracks during drilling operations.
• Natural exfoliants for soaps, cleaning products, metal casting molds, mulch, mushroom substrates, industrial filters, and more.

Pet and Animal Bedding Products

Agricob supplies three sizes of animal bedding substrates under the brand Ecobed® to university laboratories and research centers. The choice depends on the type of animal and experimental requirements:

• Suitable for large species such as rats, mice, and guinea pigs.
• Primarily for small animals, with higher contact surface and smaller, more uniform particles.
• Multi-use products for rats, mice, guinea pigs, and other small animals.

Characteristics of Ecobed® products include:

• 100% natural, biodegradable, incinerable, and animal-friendly with low dust content.
• Superior urea absorption, resulting in lower ammonia levels in animal environments.
• Produced in modern facilities with guaranteed homogeneity and marketed at less than 10% moisture content.
• Available in 20kg or 25kg polypropylene bags.

Our pet products are available in supermarkets and veterinary stores under brands such as Ecobed®, Top K9®, Master Cat®, Loops®, Canaima®, Dormilón®.

All products are 100% plant-based, biodegradable, and free of mineral dust, with high absorption and ammonia retention capabilities to eliminate odors.
