AMSpec (Advanced Materials Specialty /Aluminum & Magnesium Specialty) is an environmentally conscientious high-tech company, founded on May 1, 2004. The technical team includes the experts from MRDC/CSIST (Materials & Electro-Optics Research Division, Chung Shan Institute of Science and Technology). The specialty of the company is on advanced process and product development, using advanced materials, high performance magnesium and aluminum alloys. The company is planning to invest NT$100150 millions in the next 12 years for various establishments. Amspec will use the most advanced Mg and Al alloy made by VDC (vertical direct chill) casting and extrusion process, and then develop special plastic deformation technology to produce tubes and sheet products. In the initial phase Amspec will establish precision rolling production capability, develop forming equipment, and gradually establish the world class production capability to produce high precision, high added-value wrought products of Mg and Al alloys. AMSpec has a combination of capabilities in materials R&D and mechanical design. With this expertise, we have provided the R&D needs for other upper and down stream manufacturers of Mg & Al alloys. AMSpec s experts also have long experiences, accumulatively more than 15 years, on light metal (Al, Mg and Ti) processing technology and failure analysis (100 case/yr.).
