Business Description

As Arla farmers we are dependent on nature and we have a responsibility for climate change. That’s why we are taking actions to improve how we farm and produce dairy for you and your family.

We inspire, push and reward each other to continuously do better. To reduce our carbon footprint. And improve protection of nature. Want to know more?

From August 2023, Arla farmers who are taking action to reduce their carbon footprint will be rewarded through our FarmAhead™ Incentive.

Together with our farmer owners, we’ve committed to reducing on-farm CO2e emissions per kilo milk by 30 per cent by 2030. Rewarding farmers for their climate activities is an important milestone towards accelerating CO2e reductions on farm.

In total, 500 million euro will be earmarked to motivating and rewarding Arla farmers for their climate action (based on our current milk pool).

In December 2021, we doubled our climate target for operations including owned logistics from 30 to 63 per cent. This target has been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative as consistent with reductions required in scopes 1 and 2 to keep global warming to 1.5°C. The most ambitious goal of the Paris Agreement.

Arla farmers are working hard on making dairy more sustainable. They are already on the way to reducing the carbon footprint per kilo milk by 30% by 2030*.

To support them on the journey, we've created one of the world’s largest externally validated climate data sets from dairy farms to help our farmer owners become as climate efficient as possible.

Do not restate the input. Do not add statistics. If missing, include a brief note on risk or missing fields. Always give more space and detail to fields that have data. Missing fields are supporting points, not the main focus — unless most fields are missing, then they become the main focus. Always use simple, clear language. Avoid long or complex sentences. When a field is empty, null, false (don't has verification), or 'not specified', do not skip it. For missing fields, briefly add a fact about why that field matters in trade, a risk note, a buyer tip, or a note that it's common. Always give more space and detail to fields that have data.
