Would you like to become the leading expert in the bioenergy sector? Now you can gain instant access and information to the next generation of bioenergy.
If you subscribe to our informative newsletters, we will send you a detailed guide on why you should try our Arundo and join the renewable energy industry.
Our micropropagation technology is based on sustainable embryogenetic and somatogenetic tissue culture.
After years of research and development, we have 19 varieties of Arundo donax suitable for almost all climates and a range of ecological conditions.
We deliver Bare Root and Soil Ball Arundo plantlets that are genetically stable, high quality and virus free.
Soil-ball plantlet’s height is between 15-20cm and they come separated in plastic trays. It has a densely-netted root network within the soil-ball. Acclimatised in greenhouse nurseries, they are ready for planting.
The bare root plantlet’s height is 5-10 cm, single or in small groups, virus free, genetically stable, vigorous, homogenous seedling, that requires 1,5-2 months of acclimatisation in greenhouse nursery before plantation.
Here are some reasons why you should use Arundo for biomass production.
Competitive growth rate of 50-80 dry tons per ha per year
Energy content of 18 MJ / kg is identical to hard wood
Durable perennial crop with a lifespan of 20-25 years
It has no fertile seeds nor aggressively growing root system
The propagation material is virus, pests and pathogen free
Cures contaminated soil, prevents erosion & nutrient exploitation
A crop that is suitable for cultivation on marginal lands compared to food crops – solving the biomass dilemma
Cellulose content that allows for 10x more litres per hectare bioethanol output
No investment needed on annual soil preparation and repurchasing of the plantlet
You can utilise regular agro-technology for planting and harvesting
No need for chemical treatment as it outgrows weeds and has no known diseases or pesticides
Closed loop carbon cycle – it sequesters more carbon than what it emits during the processing period
