St. Mary’s High School, Barpeta Road is a missionary institution established in the year 1956 situated in the district of Barpeta.

It has reached its excellence in the field of education extending its service to all categories of people of the area. It has completed 65 years of its journey imparting knowledge, values, life and light to the students of this area. It was a journey filled with the grace of God and the guidance of Mother Mary along with the support and cooperation of the Managing committee members, teaching and non-teaching staff, parents and guardians, well wishers and friends whom we remember with gratitude and affection. Currently, the school has strength of 1894 students and with more beautiful surrounding. It is eco friendly and every nook and corner of the school is perfect for your child.

The day in the school begins with the energetic band troop who displays their music every morning while the march out for the school assembly and also concludes the day with the harmonious tone of the national anthem. The assembly is led by the school captains and organized by the students of various classes delivering positive quotes, reflective scriptural passages, news updates, singing hymns, prayer, exercise, oath, quiz and importance of the day.

The House system of the school comprises of four houses, identified by the four colours- Green, Red, Blue and Yellow, which enhances better discipline and order in the school. Each house is led by a captain and two vice captain along with the teachers in charge. This also serves as a platform to facilitate and identify good leaders for tomorrow. Healthy competition between the houses in academics and games, arts and culture, bring out best in each student.

St. Mary’s High School, Barpeta Road has strength of 57 efficient teachers who have mastered over their personal subjects and possess tremendous teaching skills. They have a firm grip on the students and thereby put their undying efforts to impart quality education to the pupils. Total number of non teaching staff is 8. We constantly monitor our teachers about their performances and keep them up to date. We also train them time to time. All the staffs are committed.

To promote understanding and fellowship between school and home with the aim of sharing responsibilities, there exists a Parent/ Teacher Association, which is intended to facilitate parental participation in the school. The overall aim is to advance the physical, moral, intellectual and spiritual well being of the students.

Alumni also known as Past pupil Association had begun in 2000. The Association now has became more dynamic and active with the appointment of the new office bearers in the year 16th May 2018.

In today’s fiercely competitive and digital scenario, being a bookworm alone does not suffice. To help the students exhibit their multifarious talents and develop their artistic taste, they are encouraged to participate in various co curricular and cultural activities viz. Fancy dress, Recitation/ Rhymes, Dance, Singing, Painting, Spelling bee, Speech, Karate, Quiz etc.

The School organized competitions every weekend which enabled them to compete with others with a positive note to improve one another’s skill. Added to this, they are also given tips for healthy living and politeness.

The school takes special care of the students by providing them a good environment to let out their energies through games and sports. Sports week is organized every year to provide opportunities to bring out their athletic and sports efficiency.

It is very enriching to witness the lively participation, cooperation and encouragement, cheerful acceptance of success and failures, emerging of new champions and a lot of fun and sharing among the students during this week. The winners are acknowledged with certificates and trophies or shields.

The primary aim of the Institution is to impart sound formation (Religious, Moral, Psychological, Social, Intellectual and Physical) based on the principles of Christian faith to the members of the Christian community. It also imparts a sound formation to all others admitted to the institution.
