BBL Company operates BBL, a 235-kilometre gas pipeline with an hourly capacity of 18,000,000 kWh/h (Forward Flow, NL to GB) between Balgzand in the Netherlands and Bacton in Great Britain and an hourly capacity of 7,699,193 kWh/h (Reverse Flow, GB to NL) between Bacton and Balgzand. With gas flowing between the Netherlands and Great Britain, BBL increases the GB’s supply security, strengthens the position of the Netherlands as a leading European gas player, supports the integration of the European gas market, and connects the TTF with the NBP hub.

IAM is a method to sell unbundled transmission capacity which is combined with an equivalent quantity of gas outside the PRISMA auction calendar. 

Many of Europe’s leading energy players are shippers at BBL. If you want to trade reliably and efficiently or trade capacity with other shippers, you need to register. Please be aware that you need to sign up at the Prisma platform as well to become a registered Prisma shipper.

Every year BBL Company performs planned maintenance. The 15 - day period within which the planned maintenance will take place in 2025 is the period from 1 September 2025 to 15 September 2025.

On gas day 26 October 2024 there will be a switch from summer time to winter time. This means that this gas day will have 25 hours.

The BBL physical flow direction is currently in Reverse Flow mode (GB to NL). BBLC will switch the physical flow direction to Forward Flow (NL to GB) starting gas day 1 October 2024 06:00 CEST and is anticipated to be finalized by 7 October 2024 06:00 CEST.

BBL’s annual planned maintenance period will take place during 4 gas days starting from Monday 23 September 2024 at 06:00 CEST. Activities will be resumed on Friday 27 September 2024 at 06:00 CEST.

Every year BBL Company performs planned maintenance. BBL Company would like to take the opportunity to preannounce the 15 - day maintenance window for 2025, which will take place between 1 September 2025 and 15 September 2025.

Chapter VII of the EU network on TAR NC, Regulation (EU) 2017/460, requires the national regulatory authority or the transmission system operator to carry out a periodic consultation on the information in Article 26.

BBL Company (BBLC) has launched its newly redesigned website. The main focus has been to update the structure, also the look and feel are updated to make it easier to find the information you need.

BBLC has published its tariffs and starting multipliers for the upcoming Gas Year 2024 and beyond, which apply to Forward Flow (NL to GB) and Reverse Flow (GB to NL) capacity products offered via PRISMA and Implicit Allocations. These tariffs are effective from the 1st of July 2024 09:00 CET onwards. Until this date, BBLC's Gas Year 2023 tariffs are applicable.

BBL Company (BBLC) is pleased to announce that it will introduce a booking incentive to encourage more efficient use of its available products. This booking incentive consists of a discount on the transport tariff for a specific combination of booked standard capacity products.

In July 2023, BBL Company announced a temporary increase of firm technical available Reverse Flow capacity from 7,000,000 KWh/h to 7,699,193 kWh/h. BBLC is pleased to inform that this increased technical Reverse Flow capacity will remain available.
