How long have you been an RDN?
Since 2009, graduated with my master’s degree from ASU and dove right into working in a treatment center learning about eating disorder care.
Held positions with BHN for 8 years as PR chair and Chair, it was a blast! Not only was it enlightening to learn more about how the Academy works, but to develop education and marketing mental health nutrition to the larger population was so much fun. I also developed professional connections and personal friendships that I hold dear to this day.
How long have you been in the Behavior Health Nutrition area?
All my career has been spent in the space of behavioral health nutrition, exploring the best ways to support and dig into the complex connections between nourishment, nutrition, and body comfort for all bodies and all ages.
Can you describe your journey to working in behavioral health nutrition? Any specific milestones or experiences?
Being honored with the Excellence in Eating Disorders award from BHN this October was a big highlight! Thank you so much!
How has BHN helped you professionally?
When I became a part of BHN it was the other committee members that welcomed me and created a collaborative environment that encouraged spreading the message about mental health nutrition. Professionals of all backgrounds, ages, experiences, and what I learned during my time working on the BHN board was that everyone wins when you give back to your community.
