The company was founded in 1955 by our grandfather Garumuni Peter De Silva. He came from a small town named Balapitiya in Sri Lanka. In the early 1950’s he sold cinnamon out of a wooden cart and grew it to a sizable local business. His hometown was heavily involved in the cinnamon trade and as a very trusted and respected guy in the community, he realized he’ll have success in this business. His goal was to introduce Ceylon Cinnamon to the world and help local farmers.
