CARLSBERG BREWERIES AS

The Carlsberg Group has agreed to a sale of its shares in Baltika Breweries. As part of the agreement, Baltika Breweries will transfer all its shareholdings in Carlsberg Azerbaijan and Carlsberg Kazakhstan to the Carlsberg Group. 

Carlsberg has completed its acquisition of the remaining 33.33% shareholding in Carlsberg South Asia Pte Ltd (CSAPL) from CSAPL (Singapore) Holdings Pte Ltd.

Carlsberg Denmark has entered into an agreement with DLG and Viking Malt to purchase Danish malt barley grown according to regenerative principles. The malt barley will be used for a specially brewed Carlsberg, which will be available in 2025 and be Carlsberg's first beer in Denmark with regenerative raw materials.

Developing a sustainable tomorrow can only happen together. In 2019 we announced an ambitious project at our Fredericia brewery, the result of public-private partnership with DRIP in Denmark. It will use innovative water recycling technology to reuse 90% of process water, providing learnings for our other wastewater treatments around the world.

It’s been a big year for 1.5°C. At this critical time for the planet, media coverage has been unprecedented and there was an affirmed commitment at COP25. Our sustainability ambitions at Carlsberg are aligned to the most ambitious science-based target of 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, going beyond the Paris Agreement’s base level.

Our cans are getting lighter and so is their environmental footprint. Over the last three years, we have worked with Ball to cut the weight of our most common can formats by around 5% in more than ten European markets. This lightweighting is shrinking our value chain carbon footprint by around 5,000 tonnes per year.

The very first Carlsberg beers were brewed by Carlsberg's founder J.C. Jacobsen in Copenhagen in 1847. Today Carlsberg is enjoyed all over the world!
