Business Description

Castel Frères is the historic wine trading business created by Pierre Castel with his brothers and sisters in 1949. Over time, we have created a comprehensive range including not only brand leaders and successful innovations, but also châteaux wineries and grand cru wines. Third largest in the world market, Castel Frères is today "the most important place for French wine in the world" for professionals and consumers worldwide.

Guided by our entrepreneurial spirit, proud of our profoundly familial character and driven by our success both in France and abroad, we share our winemaking expertise with our partners on a daily basis.

With guaranteed quality, exclusive services and dedicated teams, we work alongside you to show the best of our brands, wineries, and grand cru vintages, helping you to succeed. A success that we want to sustain and that we are committed to in order to innovate and meet future challenges with you.

Castel Frères is one of CASTEL trading companies.

Château Montlabert, a flagship property of the Castel family estates, has written a new chapter in its history by being promoted Grand Cru Classé in the 2022 Saint-Émilion Classification. This classification rewards the efforts made for years to reveal the singularity of Château Montlabert terroir in respect of ecosystems.

Specialist of Bordeaux vineyards since its origins, Castel Frères has developed its expertise in Bordeaux fine wines through its activities as a chateaux owner and Grands Crus negociant. This root was confirmed in 2011 with the acquisition of Château Beychevelle, 1855 Grand Cru Classé.

Our proximity with our Grands Crus partners and the selectivity of our distribution allow us to have access to exclusive references for on-trade, especially on ready to drink vintages.

For over 30 years, Castel Frères has been working to create strong brands for each vineyard and each segment. Today, some have already become truly iconic…

French favourite Bordeaux for Baron de Lestac, French favourite Loire wine for Plessis-Duval, French favourite wine brand for Roche Mazet… Such success in France is also recognised internationally, for example for Aimé Roquesante brand, an acclaimed Côtes de Provence wine in the USA. With 7800 medals won over the last 10 years, our traditional or avant-garde brands are always supported by the quality of their wines. A quality unanimously recognised that allows Castel Frères to reinvent each offer, each category, each segment…

Adhering to the principles of the United Nations Global Compact since 2019, the company, as a commercial company of CASTEL Group, has thus publicly committed to aligning its long-term strategy on 10 fundamental universal principles, on the strong themes of human rights, international labor standards, anti-corruption, and naturally the environment.

Castel Frères is thus committed to the environment in a sustainable way, and in particular on these three key points :

REDUCING GREENHOUSE GASES

By adhering to the Global Compact, Castel is committed to the 2030 agenda which sets a target of - 40 % reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in 2030 compared to 1990, to tend towards carbon neutrality by 2050. ISO 50001 certification was enacted on two production facilities instead of mandatory energy audits.

REDUCING THE IMPACT OF OUR PACKAGING

For more than 10 years, the use of lightweight bottles on our main brands, such as Roche Mazet and Baron de Lestac, has helped to reduce the tonnage of glass. 900 tonnes of glass are thus saved each year.

The waste generated by winegrowing activities constitutes potential "secondary" raw materials that can be valorized in agriculture (wood, green waste...) or in industry (glassine, cardboard, cork stoppers, pallets, etc.). The proportion of waste valorized on production facilities is over 89%.

Within our Châteaux and Domaines, the prevention and development of biodiversity are encouraged by the integration of a living viticultural ecosystem as a key factor in the management of the vineyard.

of vineyards managed in organic agriculture (certified and in conversion).

of green spaces on our facilities and wineries.

of the vineyards of the Châteaux & Domaines have stopped using pesticides.

Terra Vitis is a sustainable viticulture certification created in 1998 by French winegrowers and specifically dedicated to wine. The approach integrates all stages from the vineyard to the cellar. Its three main concerns and areas of action are man and his health, the protection of the environment and the economic sustainability of the farm. Since 2020, all Terra Vitis vineyards can also obtain the High Environmental Value label.

Public French and European certification that encourages respect for the environment and promotes the well-being of humans and animals. It excludes the use of GMOs and synthetic chemicals, and uses natural-origin treatments (sulfur, copper, citrus extracts, etc.).

The High Environmental Value certification meets the clearly expressed need in the work of the Grenelle de l'environnement (2007) to recognize farms engaged in environmentally friendly practices. This commitment includes, for example, the identification and protection of the most important areas for biodiversity on the farm, the optimization and management of fertilization, but also the management of water resources.

Castel Frères is committed to the prevention of the risks associated with alcohol consumption, supports responsible consumption, and recommends that you :

⋅ Limit your alcohol consumption to 2 drinks per day maximum.

⋅ Do not consume alcohol in risky situations (pregnancy, breastfeeding, minors, driving, operating machinery, taking certain medications, and participating in risky sports).

⋅ Do not consume alcohol every day.

Our company is committed to a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approach.

In 2023, our Blanquefort site obtained the "exemplary" level of certification. In the medium term, our goal is for all of our production sites to be certified.

Commercial tools, organisation of special events, masterclass or wine dinners, creations of wine lists, etc. Above and beyond our wines, our commercial and marketing teams are at your service to create a sustainable partnership, and together create the successes of tomorrow.

The most important place for French wine in the world

Far from being a passing trend, organic and reasoned agriculture are an interdisciplinary priority at Castel Frères, regardless of the distribution circuit. Internally and externally, a comprehensive approach has been implemented. Supported by three pillars: Terra Vitis, organic and HVE label (High Environmental Value). It covers the diversity of French wine-producing regions. With 20 years of experience in family vineyards, we have all the expertise needed to help you create a "green" range that is in high demand with new consumers.

To regulate and apply such engagement, Castel Frères supports the only reference exclusively created for viticulture: Terra Vitis. This certification is validated by an independent organisation; Terra Vitis defending a sustainable vineyard culture based on reasoned agriculture principles. This approach aims at the protection of the environment, human beings and their health, winegrowing economic viability, and the pleasure of wine from the vines to the cellar.

More about Terra Vitis

After a long period of classicism, Bordeaux wines are reinvented. Pioneering vineyards have resumed work with new objectives. Oenologists have looked for new ways, and have found wines more in tune with the markets that are emerging today. Top of the list in exportations and n°1 in terms of notoriety in many countries, Bordeaux wines also benefit from the influence and dynamism of the city, a destination that is widely acclaimed both in France and internationally.

Business Overview

≤ 1h

CASTEL FRERES S.A.S offers a diverse range of products including sparkling apple cider, soft drinks, soups, and juices — ideal for buyers looking to source ready-to-use beverage lines with consistent quality. The lack of verified business documents, work email, phone number, or revenue data raises concerns about the company's legitimacy and operational transparency. Buyers should treat this as a red flag and request additional proof before placing any orders. Without clear verification, it's difficult to assess reliability, especially for long-term or large-volume partnerships. The absence of headcount or revenue makes it hard to judge the company's scale or stability. While the product range is broad, the missing verification details could increase risk in negotiations or supply chain planning.
