Welcome to Child & Adult Therapy Solutions (CATS). At CATS we have a track record of providing highly professional therapy and counselling, adoption support, assessments, clinical supervision and continued professional development. We offer a range of therapeutic solutions for children, adolescents, adults, families and offer sessions for individual clients to whole school and children’s service contracts across the North of England.

Child & Adult Therapy Solutions was founded in 2013 by Liliana Ghilardi and David Stimson. Along with our team of therapists and associates we share a passion for helping our clients reach their potential and believe that everyone has the ability to do so, regardless of circumstance or experience.

With the correct professional support for the correct amount of time, we believe that ‘barriers’ to reaching this potential can be removed and opportunities can be greatly enhanced.

We offer a service different to most others. At CATS we offer a range of psychological therapies using only qualified and registered therapists and counsellors who are specifically trained to work with children, families and adults. We do not time-limit therapy and will only work with clients that we can fully commit to.

It was fascinating and his hugely important to my role. I feel like I can recognise trauma so much in the CYP I work with now I am informed. I have learned a huge amount.

This has been beneficial for the children and their families. We have seen a very positive impact on parents understanding their children and being able to adjust their responses to challenging behaviour.

It supports children in school who are struggling emotionally for a variety of reasons to feel regulated, safe and able to engage in their learning.
It supports staff who work with children who may be suffering from trauma, to manage the big feelings that this can trigger in the member of staff and give them strategies to cope.
The training in school has upskilled all staff who work with children, to understand the impact of trauma and attachment.

This service has been a godsend for my family. We were at breaking point, unsure on ways to help my son and to help him understand ways to cope with his overwhelming feelings he experiences. My sons therapist explained step by step ways to help my son and explained to us ways to help him and understand why he does/behaves the way he does at times. She kept me informed on how frankies sessions were going with regular meetings whilst still allowing my son to have his privacy and confidentiality.
