The Celave Company was founded in 1979, by Albano da Costa Vendeiro, in Venda do Pinheiro, Mafra Municipality, 20 Km Northwest of Lisbon, The object of the business, was to manufacture Tooth-brushes, Hair-brushes as well as other Personal Care articles with CELAVETrademark. In the mid 80s, the business increased, both in the domestic and foreign Markets. During that period, new premises were built, and the production range was expanded to include Brooms, Household Brushes and Cleaning Articles. In the early 90s, the offer of new Plastic raw materials as well as the demand of our customers for plastic articles, increased. In view of the fact, the Company acquired new equipment such as Injection machines and Moulds, providing ourselves the possibility to create, test and produce our own plastic goods. Aware of the Price, Quality and Innovation importance, allied to the market evolution, the Company diversified its range of products. Gradually the list of available articles was increased by adding new products to its existing range, namely Personal Care Products and Household Cleaning Products. Between the year 1998 and 2000, the Company changed its designation, to: Celave-Industria de Escovaria Fina, S. A.In order to be able to fulfil the market demands, Production and Head Office moved to new owned premises, with a total surface area of 22. 000 m2, including 4. 250 m2 indoor space, situated at Malveira, 3 Km away from the original site.
