For more than 30 years, I have designed radiant stained glass windows from my studio in the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. The beautiful surrounding countryside provides the inspiration, which I successfully combine with technical expertise and craftsmanship to create works of art of lasting beauty. Fabric art has fascinated me since a trip to the Museum of Modern Art in New York City more than 20 years ago when I purchased a reproduction of one of Henri Matisse’s paintings done on silk. It has always been in the back of my mind that stained glass designs would make beautiful textile products, but I never pursued that creative avenue-- until recently. In an era when most textile designs are created digitally, my designs are individually handcrafted as paintings or stained glass pieces. My current collection of silk scarves and handbags is handcrafted, reproduced and sewn in the United States. I am looking to create a complimentary line of more affordable women’s accessories and am looking for manufacturers to work with towards that end. Retail sales are through my website at this time.
