We are located in Léognan, 12 kms south of Bordeaux, Southwest of France.

Our winery and big house are surrounded by A 47-acre vineyard and we are lucky to enjoy almost 5 acres planted with more-than-100-years-old oaktrees.

Our family purchased Domaine de Grandmaison in1939, and it has been going through a gradual restructuring initiated in the 70s by Jean and Françoise Bouquier.

Nowadays, it matches with the dynamism and all the strict standards of our Pessac-Léognan Appellation.

Today the 3rd and 4th generations of the Bouquier Family are keeping dedicating their lives to Grandmaison : vine plantation, wine-making, direct selling. Everything is family-made. Such an entrepreneur tradition dates back to François Bouquier, a brave grandfather of the current manager, who left his native soil Cantal, all by himself, at the age of 14. He arrived in Bègles (very close to Bordeaux) to be a simple worker in a drying codfish company. In the 30s, he succeeded in creating his own company !

During that time, he and his wife Jeanne bought Domaine de Grandmaison : both fell in love with the landscape : gentle slopes, a small river and trees that reminded them of their beloved Auvergne region.

Their grandson, also named François, has been the winemaker since 1988. Since 1993 he has been woking with his wife Mayi and their nephew Rémi since 2014. In 2024, their youngest son Vincent joined them.

In Grandmaison, as wine growers, we pay a specific attention to how to enhance such a rich terroir which allows us to produce a fruity complex red wine with an ability to age, as well as an elegant fresh and real fruity white wine.
