EGE KAPTAN is a family-run business that was established in 1985 and is now managed by the third generation of the family. Our company owns 210, 000m2 of land in the Izmir/Ödemis region, and our 150-year-old chestnut trees produce high quality chestnuts due to the climate and nutrient-rich soil. Our employees come from the region and are fully acquainted with the harvesting and care of the trees. They thoroughly screen the fine fruits produced by the trees before packing them into natural fibre sacks. Organic farming is a high priority for us: we do not use any artificial fertilisers or chemicals. By using mineral fertilisers only, we are able to retain the natural cycles in the local environment. Our long-term aim is to establish and expand the use of this versatile and delicious fruit by the general population. We guarantee production reliability through our strict quality control systems.
