Business Description

General Cocoa Company (Genco), a division of Coffee America, is one of the largest cocoa traders in North America. Based in New York, we source cocoa beans and products from producers, processors and exporters around the world and supply them to chocolate manufacturers and cocoa processors across North America, Europe and Asia. This, combined with our proven logistics expertise and renowned high levels of service makes us a strong trading partner in the global cocoa supply chain. As such, we support our clients’ sustainability objectives through certification and/or bespoke programs. We work directly with cocoa farmers and through partnerships at origin to promote good agricultural practices and awareness of environmental and social concerns. We use cookies to provide you with a better service. Sucden Cocoa’s head office in Paris serves as a hub for Sucden’s sourcing, logistics, marketing, and trading operations. In Côte d’Ivoire and Nigeria, we source on the ground and operate warehouses and export facilities. Our vast network and capabilities, however, provide us with a platform to source beans from other origins. Since we do not have holdings in processing or chocolate manufacturing, we are uniquely positioned in the industry. The global supply and demand of cocoa beans is generally in equilibrium, making access to information essential to mitigating market volatility and maximizing financial performance. Obtaining information from many producing countries can prove to be challenging. When appropriate, Sucden also provides pre-financing in an effort to help improve the liquidity within the supply chain. To better address the concerns of deforestation due to the cultivation of cocoa, Sucden joined the Cocoa and Forests Initiative (CFI) in March 2019 and published our implementation plan for work in Ghana and Ivory Coast in September. The expertise of ICI is helping us to evaluate and improve our child labor monitoring and remediation programs in Ghana and Ivory Coast

GENERAL COCOA COMPANY offers a full range of cocoa products from raw beans to processed forms like cocoa paste and powder — a broad portfolio that can serve multiple downstream industries such as chocolate manufacturing and confectionery. The lack of verified work email, phone, and business documents raises concerns about legitimacy and responsiveness, which could delay buyer onboarding or increase risk in large transactions. Without annual turnover or staff count, it's hard to assess the company's scale or financial stability — a key factor when evaluating reliability. Buyers should verify the company's identity independently before committing to any order, as missing verification signals may indicate a low-trust or new-to-market supplier. While the product range is strong, the absence of credibility signals makes it harder to build confidence in international trade.
