Our gamemaster was , the new Illness & Injury Manager, and the event was wrapped up by our Head of Operations,. A key highlight of the week was the launch of Wilmar’s Life Saving Rules - a set of critical safety rules designed to prevent serious injuries and fatalities. These rules reflect our commitment to protecting ourselves and each other by making safety a non-negotiable priority. * 🎉 That’s a wrap on Vogel’s BreadyWear! We took our love of Vogel’s to new heights – literally – with a world-first travel-wear collection: BreadyWear. Designed by emerging fashion talent Vicki Foggo, the limited-edition range featured two standout pieces: The Breaded Jacket, crafted into a sleek silhouette and capable of holding up to 32 slices of Vogel’s, and The Neckloaf, a stylish travel pillow that carries two full loaves. * We’re proud to spotlight the third incredible woman in our 'Women Shaping GF' series - , Hub Manager at Goodman Fielder Auckland Freight Center. By championing gender equality, we continue to build a more inclusive and equitable future for all. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗚𝗙? I'm still quite new here, having been with GF for just 1 year and 1 month. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲? My journey has been full of surprises and unexpected turns. I departed from Vitaco in late 2023 after working there for over 10 years. I returned home to Samoa to care for my nana due to her old age. I came back to New Zealand in late January 2024 and started looking for a job. While searching on Seek, I came across a Warehouse Team Leader role at GF-AFC. Although the role wasn't exactly what I was looking for, I remembered a dream I had. Years ago, during a weekend trip to Auckland City, I saw the GF sign at the Head Office and told my husband that one day I would work at GF. Unexpectedly, I received a call about a Hub Manager role available for application. I seized the opportunity, and that's how I landed the position 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗱? Always focus on reducing the noise. This means identifying the source of complaints and addressing the root cause to avoid stress and difficulties. Additionally, prioritise your workload by focusing on what the business needs from you, rather than what you need from the business. This approach will help you achieve a better work-life balance. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲? I've noticed that some men can be slow or resistant to change. Women, on the other hand, tend to adapt quickly and grasp new concepts even before they're fully explained. To ease the transition, I introduce the idea early on so that when the changes are implemented, they have a better understanding. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘄? We are all the same, regardless of gender, nationality, or skin color. We all breathe the same air. * At Goodman Fielder, we are committed to fostering a workplace where everyone is treated fairly, has equal opportunities, and feels empowered to thrive. By championing gender equality, we continue to build a more inclusive and equitable future for all 🌟 Today, the spotlight is on , National Retail Field Manager: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗚𝗙? In May I will have been with the business for seven years, less one year on parental leave. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲? During my time at GF, I’ve taken on a handful of roles across the Sales team, each shaping my passion for sales. I started as an Account Executive in the FSNI team, which really confirmed that sales was the right path for me. From there, I moved through different roles in Retail Sales and Retail Field, picking up valuable experience along the way. Fast forward to now, and I’m leading our National Retail Field team, where I get to keep building on that experience and driving success. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗱? Your manager isn’t responsible for your development, you are! So get in the driver's seat. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲? Being a young female in predominantly male workplace can sometimes feel intimidating, especially when I was first starting out. I think showing up, being vulnerable and keen to learn is important. I recently read a quote that has really resonated with me and shaped my approach in my new role: 'Once you are in the room, you are equal to everyone in it. ' 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘁? To me, equal rights mean ensuring that everyone has the same opportunities, respect, and voice, regardless of their background. It’s not just about diverse perspectives being present but about truly valuing and respecting them. Achieving this requires awareness, intentional actions, and a commitment to fostering inclusion every day. * Give Back & Get Stuck In 👊 Six members of our Supply Chain Leadership Team recently volunteered with , a charity dedicated to rescuing good food before it goes to waste and distributing it to those in need. They helped pack 4,500 kg of product, providing 10,000 meals to the community! This included support for Women's Refuge, Community Kitchens, food banks, homeless shelters, and education providers. Each month, KiwiHarvest rescues an impressive 200,000 kg of food. In 2025, Goodman Fielder NZ has donated critical stock, including Meadow Fresh Quick Brekkie and MF Custard, providing 84,808 meals and preventing 101,134 kg of CO2eq emissions – the equivalent of 5,056 trees growing for a year. In addition to our donations, we continue to support their cause through volunteering, encouraging all GF staff to get involved in this important initiative - all GFNZ employees are entitled to 4 hours of volunteer leave each year. Over the next few weeks we will be spotlighting some of our amazing women in leadership. Today, the spotlight is on Morghann Mott, Supply & Planning Manager at Longburn. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗚𝗙? Next month (April 2025) I will reach 20 years of service at GF. I worked part time during the weekends and school holidays helping to keep the factory clean before moving into the cultured foods production team. When I completed High school, I wasn’t sure what was next for me - so I took on a permanent role here in Longburn as a Filler operator. From there I helped to cover multiple roles including Data administration, Maintenance planning, Production planning, Purchasing and reception duties. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗱? Don’t stress over situations that are out of your control – instead focus on your responses and actions, those are the things you can actually influence. Being assertive is key – speaking up confidently and setting those boundaries. Sharing my experiences with colleagues has helped to create a supportive atmosphere where we can all back each other up. * We’re proud to have , our CMO, and , Head of Marketing & Category - Dairy, featured in this insightful and feature: "If I entertain, I’m going to sell product.
