Bluish white ware is a type of pottery made in Song Dynasty of China, which has a bluish tint to it. It is also referred to shadow blue ware in modern times. Bluish white is made using a specific type of porcelain and then adding a tinted glaze over the white porcelain. A great deal of bluish white ware was made strictly for imperial use in Song dynasty and was achieved true translucency through using kaolin and fine-grained porcelain stone that supported thin walled vessels.This accomplishment was achieved in the province of southeast Jiangxi in the town of Jingdezhen. Bluish white ware has a pure white porcelain body with a bluish tinted glaze.The jade-like texture of the Ceramic results from the clear glaze that contains iron in small amounts. When applied over a white Porcelain body the glaze produces a greenish-blue colour.
