Recently, welding-related companies have been trying to reduce manufacturing costs and improve productivity in order to enhance their competitiveness. However, investment in research and development to reduce wages, expenses for welding wire and gases and electricity fees, which account for a considerable part of manufacturing costs, has not brought forth productive results in the labor-intensive welding industry. With this fact in mind, we held close consultations with the Russian  Aerospace Center which led advanced science in the 20th century. When the "method of alternately suppling welding gases through  impulse" was successfully developed by Doctor Novikov's research team, we introduced this technology and formed a joint venture in the firm belief that this new technology would significantly reduce manufacturing costs and streamline the working process in the welding industry overall.   In the following year, we participated in the state-run project for commercialization of the device to alternately supply gases through impulse in cooperation with KITECH, and eventually succeeded in developing a welding (models K-1 and K-2) conforming with the original technology of Russia. Before putting the welding on the market, we conducted joint tests with KITECH on the product at about 40 companies in order to verify its performance. The test results showed that when the welding was attached to an existing welding machine, consumption of welding gases was reduced by 30% while welding speed was increased. This result is drawing considerable attention from the welding industry.
