Korchip is specialized manufacturer of EDLC. The Electric Double Layer Capacitor (EDLC) is a type of secondary battery. Different from conventional capacitor, EDLC operates under the principle of adsorption and desorption of ion at the interface of the electrode and electrolyte. Under this principle, charging and discharging of EDLC are done at an extremely high speed. EDLC has higher capacity and has higher power than existing re-chargeable battery. EDLC also has semi-permanent life as it can be charged several hundred thousand cycles or more. Checking residual energy is handy, as the voltage changes in proportion to the amount of charge left. Moreover, beause it uses neither alkaline metal nor poisonous heavy metal (EDLC is made of carbon), it is an environmentally friendly source of energy.
