Most department stores or large stores have 'programs' which help them liquidate their 'salvage' goods. Such programs are commonly called 'Salvage Program', 'Liquidation Program', 'Asset Recovery', 'Reverse Supply Chain Management' etc. Basically all department stores will 'salvage' items which they choose to no longer sell in their stores. These goods will include customer returns, shelf-pulls, mark-down items, out-of-season, discontinued items, in-store display items, overstocks etc.
