Business Description

www.mayanft.comThe Mayan Fair Trade store has only been possible by combining the knowledge and skills of artisans and design professionals from various countries. These skilled artists have been producing creative textile craft collections for years and we have captured the essence of their time-honored skills. Our membersShortly after our inception, we had 112 members, 88 women and 24 men, coming from every corner of Guatemala, from as far away as Chimaltenango, Solola, Chichicastenango, Totonicapan and Sacatepequez.None of the artisans are employees; we are all members of the same organization and everyone under our roof works together. The key to our mutual respect is that we have been working together for a period of time, sharing ideas and creative concepts while growing in appreciation of each ones unique skills.

Business Overview

Avg Response Time

≤ 1h

Mayan Fair Trade operates from Guatemala, a country known for its rich handcraft traditions, which gives it a unique edge in offering authentic, culturally rooted leather and textile products. The product range includes handmade items like beaded bags and sewing toys, appealing to buyers seeking ethical, artisanal goods. Despite being established since 2006, the lack of verified business documents, work email, phone, or account email raises concerns about legitimacy and trustworthiness — a common risk for small or new exporters in emerging markets. Buyers should verify the company’s identity independently before placing large orders. While the origin country offers strong cultural authenticity, the absence of verification signals potential red flags in communication and operational transparency.
