In 1971 we started as a rock crystal mining company and became an enterprise with restricted responsibility (Goiana Importadora e Exportadora Ltda.). After this year it began to acquire large quaring areas in order to be prepared to attend to the external quartz demand. This objective was attained in the early 1980'ies, when 90% of the rock crystal exported by Goiana was produced in its own mines.

In 2001, it was opened the GOIEX COMERCIAL EXPORTADORA LTDA. in order to be obtained taxes benefits in the mining/production/exporting processes.

In 2007, GOIANA AND GOIEX became one company altogether and the name GOIEX COMERCIAL EXPORTADORA LTDA. was the maintained one, since the taxes benefits were suspended by the government in 2006.

However, in 2008 different taxes benefits were made and we have opened PAMEX IMP. E EXP. LTDA. to concentrate 100% of our exports, since GOIEX will have to concentrate in the domestic market only.

For the last three years, PAMEX has been developing a plant to produce high purity quartz sand, which has started operating in February/2012.

The search for new markets was always one of its main purposes. Today, PAMEX/GOIEX is supplying High purity quartz sand, Fusing quartz(lascas), the eyeclean and rutilated quartz (bijouterie), quartz for collection, rose quartz, green quartz, hematite, agate and various other rough Brazilian stones and cut/polished ornaments of such Brazilian stones.
