Santa Rosa Marine Resources started its business operation in 1975 exporting seashells for commercial and industrial use (buttons), and for collectors items or home decors and later to include shellcraft and handicraft, seaweeds, dried and live fishes. For the past thirty years the company was into research and development of the natural marine sponges for cosmetics, bath and exfoliating uses, household cleaning, and recently natural sea sponges for special effects in painting. Santa Rosa Marine Resources have established sea sponge farms and a network of sponge fishermen around the many exotic southern islands of the Philippines. These natural sea sponges are then processed and classified into different product lines for cosmetics, bath and exfoliating uses, all-purpose cleaning including promotional purpose and faux painting. The processed natural sea sponges are now exported worldwide.
