Shanghai Aerospace Equipments Manufacturer, attaching to Shanghai Academy of space Technology, was founded in the year of 1921, in which special welding center of COSTIND and state-level enterprise technical center are built. The enterprise has authoritative research institution in friction stir welding and friction stir spot welding. A number of domestic firsts were developed in the enterprise, making us professional equipments manufacturer in the field of friction stir welding and friction stir spot welding. The enterprise is authorized to use the FSW equipment manufacturing patent of TWI, and serials of FSW equipments have been successfully developed, with maximum welding size of 12000mm*5000mm, thickness ranging from 1mm to 150mm, and welding materials including aluminum alloy, copper alloy and magnesium alloy. Furthermore, some new technique, such as the parallel mechanism and tool pin withdrawal technique, is applied into FSW equipment development. Professional FSW equipments are supplied to several companies of different industry, including aviation, aerospace, rail transit, shipping and electricity. The enterprise started the development of FSSW equipment since 2009 by the success in developing the first FSSW equipment in China, which was subsequently exhibited in Beijing Essen Welding Show. In July 2010, we signed agreement in Terms of technology cooperation with German company of RIFTEC, which makes us the only one having the developing, and sale authorization in China.
