From OEM to green technology expert   In 1994, Shanghai Third Electric Bulbs Factory was established, which produces the incandescent lamp and the high pressure mercury lamp and is the predecessor of SPL. In 2002, five extremely talented electric and light source engineers joined Shanghai Third Electric Bulbs Factory and the company name was changed into Shanghai New Light Source Technology Co, Ltd. The new company commits itself to develop and manufacture HID bulbs, ignitors, and other related products. This is the first restructuring of Shanghai Third Electric Bulbs Factory (predecessor of SPL). Shanghai New Light Source Technology Co, Ltd offers high quality high pressure sodium lamps, metal halide lamps and the related control device; besides, it also offers the OEM service to some large-scale lighting enterprises. In 2007, as a newly-restructured company, Shanghai New Light Source Technology Co, Ltd had an enormous passion for new technology and advanced new products. At the same time, in order to actively response to the call of country of energy-saving and reducing emission, the company decided to develop the most advanced lighting products with the lowest carbon emission at that time. After more than three months market research, in the face of choosing LED or the induction lamp, the company chose the latter, because it has extremely long service life(more than 100, 000 hours) and can save energy more than 50% and is pollution free. In 2009, with eight years experience in lighting industry and two years R&D experience, Shanghai New Light Source Technology Co, Ltd not only mastered every hard-core technology of induction lighting system including electronic ballast, bulb, lamp structure and light distribution design, but also successfully applied the induction lamp system to different applications.
