TOYOTA DO BRASIL LTD.

Toyota do Brasil Ltda. (TDB), established in 1958, is Toyota's first manufacturing affiliate outside of Japan. It has plants in Sorocaba and Porto Feliz, São Paulo. One of its first production vehicles was the Bandeirante, a Brazilian version of the Land Cruiser. The company produces vehicles valued by Brazilian consumers and has produced and sold over 100,000 Bandeirante SUVs between 1958 and 2001. In 1998, TDB began production of the Corolla. In 2012, Toyota opened a new vehicle plant in Sorocaba, which manufactures the Etios compact sedan. In 2016, Toyota opened a new engine plant in Porto Feliz, its first engine manufacturing facility in Latin America. This facility produces 1.3-liter and 1.5-liter NR engines. Toyota do Brasil also exports vehicles to other countries in Latin America. In 2023, the Sao Bernardo Plant, Toyota's first overseas plant, concluded its production.
