We have over 40 years dedicated to the production of Meat and Bone Meal and Tallow derived from bovine sources. With effort and perseverance, we have become a leading company in the rendering industry in Latin America.
Company Development and Certifications
Our company has had continuous development supporting the growth of the Uruguayan frigorific industry, recognized worldwide for its reliable sanitary status and traceability. Over the last decade, Cardama has undergone a deep industrial restructuring process with significant investments in machinery, contributing to continuous product improvement and environmental commitment.
In this regard, we have obtained the ISCC (International Sustainability Carbon Certification), one of the main certification systems for sustainability and greenhouse gas emissions.
In late 2014, we launched a state-of-the-art fat/oil refinery technology (De Smet Ballestra) which allows us to offer various types of tallow with higher added value, potentially producing edible-grade fats like shortening if required.
Products and Applications
Animal Protein Feed
The product is used as a source of animal protein in the manufacture of feed for animals (pets, poultry, pigs, etc.).
Tallow
The Tallow is obtained through crushing, boiling, and pressing bovine by-products (primarily bones, viscera, fat, and other non-edible parts). It is used in the food industry, soap production, oleochemical industry, and biofuels.
Distilled Fatty Acids
Distilled Fatty Acids are obtained through physical refining, where fatty acids are separated from Tallow and then distilled under vacuum. This product is used in the oleochemical industry, soap making, and the energy sector.
