CCI Initiatives to helping the poor during this pandemic
We engage communities through a variety of education, health and livelihood programmes.
Education is crucial for individuals to acquire knowledge, character and values to thrive within society. We facilitate their development through caring holistically for each individual at different stages of their lives.
Good health is invaluable as it significantly improves quality of life. We seek to improve access to healthcare with feeding programmes, Community Development and Empowerment (CDE), surgery and medical assistance.
Livelihood assets are key factors in eradicating poverty. We engage communities to identify their needs, and work with them progressively towards a better standard of living.
By purchasing these products, you are directly helping our beneficiaries provide for themselves.
"I am a living testimony that even in such a life, one is empowered. I empowered myself to learn, to improve, to trust and to walk one step at a time forward."
Full-time assistant teacher
"We wanted sports to give them focus, discipline and above all, a team they belong to."
"Each of us united in one spirit and going beyond the task we were assigned to do when we interacted with every patient or child... After all these weeks of returning from East Timor, do I still want to go back? Yes! Sign me up already! I have informed my leader to “chope” a place for me in the next trip."
“Through Care Channels’ livelihood program, I have learnt to be more patient and diligent in everything I do. My attitude also impacted my family when I got married and I now have a family who support and love me.”
Since our beginnings in 2000, Care Channels International has been guided by our mission to be a channel in providing holistic care to the poor, that men and women may be taught to fish so that they may eat for a lifetime. Once again, many thanks to all our workers, well-wishers and supporters of every capacity, who have made this possible year after year. I trust that this report, with its stories and statistics, will give you a sense of the great difference little acts of love and kindness can accomplish.

Visiting Care Channels' work in Bangladesh and Pakistan this year allowed me to see first-hand how your support has touched the lives of so many in a holistic way. The poor and marginalized find new dignity, being able to provide for themselves, and securing hope for tomorrow.
Our deepest appreciation goes to all who work with us in the front lines of the 7 countries we are in, and also to our wel-wishers and supporters. You are the ones who put a smile in the faces and hope on the hearts of those we help. Thank you.

It is my privilege to contribute a small part in this great work
Poverty is not just the simple absence of wealth. Poverty is the social condition of being disfavored. Impoverished communities lack access, and even the hope of access, to proper education, means of livelihood and reasonable healthcare. This is Care Channels’ work – to move the poor from dependency to dignity. On behalf of the beneficiaries, we express our deepest gratitude to our supporters. You are who you are because you care for the poor and the disadvantaged.

I was already planning to have a dental check-up for my tooth, when the medical dental mission gave free tooth extraction. This is a big saving for me, as I can use that money to buy rice for my family. I’m very grateful to Care Channels and the volunteer doctors for their service. I hope they will continue with what they are doing for the poor. Thank you very much for serving the poor community.
Housewife & dental patient
I’ve been serving in Care Channels’ medical dental mission since 2004. Through Medical Missions, I have met people with different personalities and also made new friends and doctors in the same profession. As I went along with the team, I realised that there were many people who need help and that realisation has spurred me to want to help more people, especially those who can’t afford to pay. Every time I volunteer in medical-dental missions, I feel satisfied because I can use my profession to serve other people, especially those who are less fortunate.
CCI has a very strong team of committed staff and I have personally met some of them when I visited the regional countries. I have also had the opportunity to see the actual pasting of pressed flowers. The work they do is sustainable and empowering and this is has spurred me to support them all these years.
Working with Care Channels has been an absolute joy, and I am excited to see what more we can create together in the years to come.
Founder of Project Grasya
My husband, Shing Chuan and I have been going to Timor Leste since 2005, initially twice and lately once a year. It has been our privilege to be a part of the work in Timor Leste and to witness her transformation from a war-torn nation to a young (albeit struggling) one full of hope and promise.
This year, together with a group of NUHS staff and students, we did 2 days of healthcare training at Liquica hospital on topics ranging from hypertension, ECG reading, stroke, to case discussions of skin conditions and sexually transmitted infections. It always encourages us to see the hunger of the young doctors and nurses to learn. This was followed by 2 days of mobile medical clinics in 2 villages. One was quite remote, requiring 2.5 hours of travel, often on dirt tracks. We saw a record 300 patients, a record number of teeth extractions within 2 days, in addition to checking and providing near vision glasses for the elderly.
We overcame the difficulties we faced on the trip like car breakdown, physical illnesses and visa issue. The finale was crystal clear, starry skies on two nights which allowed us to view the Milky Way with its galactic core!
